Individual Therapy for Adults

1931013968Nothing seems in balance.

Negative, all-consuming thoughts keep racing through your head, causing you not to show up for yourself or others. You think, “This is not me.”

The joy you once felt seems to be slipping away each day. Sometimes, your daily routines seem daunting and exhausting. Lately, each day, you feel less and less like a human.

Work? Forget it. The impossible and relentless expectations and balancing work and life feel impossible.

Dread starts seeping in, making your thoughts feel unbearable. You can’t hear anything around you except that inner voice that only sees the worst in you.

Life seems out of control.

Sometimes, you experience cyclic mood shifts, causing you to feel “off” most days. On the days of feeling overwhelmed, you check out. On other days, you show up lifeless.

In the past, you used distractions to avoid the concerning and intense feelings to help you “get over” those negative feelings. The truth is that distractions never helped – nothing has. If anything, the feelings seem to be more and more intense.

Wading through this alone adds more feelings of hopelessness. “If one more thing happens, I feel like I will explode.” “Will this feeling ever get better, or am I being dramatic?” “Am I broken?”

Everyone else seems to have happy and peaceful lives. Maybe I am the problem.” Your confidence is at an all-time low.

At this point, you don’t trust or believe in yourself. Reaching out to friends or family seems pointless because they don’t “get it.” Luckily, some people can help you in your journey to peace, healing, and self-discovery. I am one of those people.

I help adults struggling with constant worry, fear, anxiety, and thoughts that prevent them from doing the things they love. Whether the anxious thoughts stem from painful and traumatic memories or seem to come out of nowhere, talk therapy and/or EMDR can help.

In our work together, you will learn mindfulness skills and tools to manage the day-to-day stressors that life throws at you.

Suppose we find that your feelings of being unable to move forward result from traumatic experiences. In that case, you will learn to reprocess the negative experience meaningfully, decreasing those emotional and physical responses to the trauma.

It’s time to regain that sense of peace and control.

Now is the time to show up for yourself again.

Together, we will identify what has you stuck and find ways for you to live a more connected and joyful presence.

There’s no reason to let your precious life and joyous things slip through your hands. Why not commit yourself so you can wade through the current problems and enjoy all the beautiful things life offers?

Let’s work together to find the key that will unlock new possibilities you thought were lost forever. It will be my privilege to take this journey of healing alongside you.
