Let’s see what therapy can look like for you.
I am so happy you are here. Sure, it took some courage to land you on this page. I get it. The good news is that you are here now. Let’s look at what therapy can be like for you.
Therapy at Tides of Change is gentle and created for each person who commits to the process. I offer a peaceful and attuned approach that will make you feel more comfortable sharing things that cause pain or scare you the most.
You will feel heard and seen in this space throughout the journey. My job is to create a safe therapeutic space that helps guide you to self-discovery, release worries, and promote healing.
I get that being vulnerable with a stranger can be challenging. Therefore, I strive to make therapy a nurturing experience. In therapy with me, we go at your pace because this is your journey; I am only here to facilitate the transformation.
Therapy with me is about your healing.
Remember – you are the catalyst for change, healing, and growth.
Throughout our time together, you will feel safe to share and explore the areas of your life that have been difficult to talk about for years or maybe even decades. I will be right there every step of the way with you.
Previous clients have shared they learned to find value in their selves, navigate the ever-evolving world around them, and heal. Whether you want to reduce your anxiety, wade through life changes, or recover from past and current trauma(s), I am here for you.
Here’s my hope for you.
My passion in life is to help others heal and grow in their lives.
This growth could mean many things to each person who reads this, which is my intent. Each person’s life experiences impact them differently, and I want to guide every person toward relief.
I want you to find the relief you are looking for so you may live with joy, purpose, and passion. Let me help you get where you want to go.
About Me
Hi! I am Brittany, the owner and therapist at Tides of Change.
Let me start by saying I am so honored to be on this journey with you. So, you want to know a bit more about me?
As a young adult, I struggled to find my purpose in life. I was a Division I volleyball player; this was my life and world.
When my 15-year athletic career ended, I struggled. I felt like I no longer had an identity or purpose and had to start over. Performance anxiety and perfectionistic qualities crept in. This experience was paralyzing, but it taught me a lot.
Through my struggles and search for self-discovery, I found that I am driven by helping others achieve relief from anxiety, life change, and trauma because I have been there. It took me a while to get here, but I am so happy I did!
Ready to hear things about me?
I received a bachelor’s degree in art from Winthrop University and played volleyball. So, to all the creatives out there, I see you! To all the athletes out there, I see you, too!
From there, I moved to complete my master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Career Counseling at East Carolina University. I have worked in many areas searching for my passion, including career centers, rehabilitation, and school-based settings.
I have worked with all abilities and ages, which has helped me create a more holistic therapeutic approach and feel confident in my areas of specialization.
When I am not in therapy sessions…
…you will find me spending time with my husband and fur babies and watching all the Netflix reality shows. One of my favorites is “Nailed It.”
If you see me in the fall, I will probably be drinking anything pumpkin spice. Yes, I am one of “those people.” 😊
Lastly, I am an avid Peloton member and love a variety of workouts, including biking, shadow boxing, and Pilates.
